Having covered the fundamentals of Python over the past few weeks, we are now ready to move on to another essential skill in the field of machine learning and data science: SQL (Structured Query Language). Depending on the project, you may find yourself using SQL more or less frequently. However, regardless of the extent of its use, SQL is an important skill to have on your resume.

Companies often store their data in SQL databases. As a data scientist or machine learning engineer, you will need to extract information from these databases to train your machine learning models. That's where SQL comes into play.
